My interests in art are diverse and I have enjoyed working in many different mediums. Most often I work in watercolor and pastel. I have studied charcoal drawing, watercolor and sketchbook drawing at both the Community Arts Center in Wallingford and Delaware County Community College, and I have taken pastel classes with well-known Philadelphia artist Veronica Gledhill. I began studying Chinese Brush Painting with artist Josephine Tsai. In 2004 I extended my studies by attending the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing China. While attending CAFA I received instruction in landscape from Lin Bin, Lecturer, Chinese Calligraphy from Cai Mengxia, Lecturer and Docterate and birds and flowers from Zhao Ning’an, Professor.
Painting is a pleasure that gives me inner peace. Being surrounded by beautiful colors and shapes enriches my life in many ways. I am fascinated by filling a brush with color, applying that brush to paper and watching what develops. There is so much beauty around us, if I can capture just a small portion of that upon my paper then I am satisfied. I am so happy and honored that my paintings are creations that people like to have in their homes.
